Saturday Night Communion
Sunday Communion
Usher Duties:
- The Ushers should arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the service.
- Appropriate attire for ushering is required (No Blue Jeans, Tennis Shoes, Tee shirts are not allowed)
- On Saturday Night Services the ushers shall hand out all Worship Folders and on Sunday Services the greeters shall hand out the Folders if they so desire.
- If we happen to run out of Worship Folders, quietly go and ask if someone could share so everyone could have a Worship Folder.
- When Church is quite full, help the members find suitable places to sit.
- Collection:
- Upon ushering the members out of Church, make sure to organize all of the hymnals and to discard any garbage that is laying around before leaving.
- Communion Procedure:
Both Services there will be assigned two Servers which should assist Pastor with the Body & Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
There needs to be another usher which should take care of ushering no more than ten members on each side prior to Communion.
We have Communion for our WELS members only!
If there is a question if a member or guest wants Communion, make sure that Pastor is contacted prior to Church beginning.
- An usher needs to take care of ringing the bell upstairs. The bell farthest away from the organ should be rung twenty times as soon as the altar lights go on, and the Organist gives you the go-ahead. During the Lords Prayer the Bell needs to be rung also. A sheet of paper is posted to let you know when to ring the bell. For the Lords Prayer you use the rope closest to the Organ.
- On Special Services it helps if two ushers go down the center aisle before the service begins to hand out additional hymnals.
Saturday Night Services:
Two Ushers down the middle shall collect and count the members.
Sunday Services:
Four Ushers shall collect the offerings and count the members.
All ushers should go over there totals before recording the total.
If an usher cannot make their scheduled service, it is there responsibility to find a suitable replacement.
